Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has branded rumours of a possible rift with assistant boss Steve Bould "lies".

The Frenchman has been reported to have fallen out with the 50-year-old over training methods following a dismal period in the club's campaign.

Despite these suggestions, Wenger has insisted that the coaching staff are "united" and committed to getting the Gunners' season back on track.

"We are a united staff team," the club's official Twitter page quotes Wenger as saying. "You cannot control all the lies that are written in the newspapers."

The North London outfit currently sit seventh in the Premier League table, 15 points adrift of leaders Manchester United.
