The Mirror suggests that Arsene Wenger sent scouts to watch the Brazilian international in action in the Bundesliga this weekend, as he searches for a player to add some strength in midfield.

The same report also states that Wolfsburg appear interested in Gunners winger Lukas Podolski, raising speculation over a possible player-plus-cash deal.

Arsenal currently hold fourth spot in the Premier League table.
