Officials from Manchester United and Real Betis will reportedly meet next week to discuss the future of Brazilian attacker Antony.

Officials from Manchester United and Real Betis will reportedly meet next week to discuss Antony's future, with another loan move for the 2025-26 campaign believed to be a serious option.

The 25-year-old joined Real Betis on loan from Man United in January, and he has been in impressive form for the Seville outfit, scoring four times and registering four assists in 11 appearances in all competitions.

As it stands, Antony will head back to Old Trafford this summer, but recent comments from Red Devils head coach Ruben Amorim suggested that the forward is unlikely to be in his parent team's plans for next season.

"When you play against any team in England, the physicality is there. If you don't have physicality, you will struggle a lot," Amorim told TNT Sports. "Antony is so much better now in Spain. It's [because of] a lot of factors but I guarantee you it's physicality."

Antony has also suggested that he does not want to return to England, claiming that the warmer weather in Spain has played a leading role in him regaining his love for football.

Man United, Real Betis 'to meet next week' to discuss Antony

"The city has also played a lot, which is better [than Manchester] and good here," Antony told Spanish TV.

"I am very happy here with it. And the sun here helps a lot. You're every day at noon, awake, listening to yourself, I go to sleep smiling and that's the most important thing for me."

According to ABC, Real Betis and Man United are due to meet next week to discuss the Brazilian's future.

The report claims that the La Liga outfit are hopeful of extending the loan agreement to the end of the 2025-26 campaign, but there are a number of factors that would complicate such an arrangement.

It is understood that Man United would be looking for Real Betis to cover more of Antony's salary, while it is difficult to imagine the Red Devils agreeing to a deal unless an obligation to buy in the summer of 2026 is included.

Is Antony's Man United career over?

In truth, Antony has never got going at Man United, with the forward struggling to make his mark since arriving from Ajax, only managing 12 goals and five assists in 96 appearances.

The attacker has been a different player at Real Betis, though, thriving in a new environment, and it would be best for both parties if they were to cut ties during this summer's transfer window.

Antony will have ambitions of returning to the Brazil squad for the 2026 World Cup, while Man United are under pressure to make some sales due to their financial issues, so a permanent exit this summer would be more suitable.

However, it remains to be seen whether Real Betis can afford Antony, as his recent form is good news for Man United when it comes to setting a price tag for the South American ahead of the upcoming market.
