Wolfsburg have reportedly launched a £6.5m bid for Heerenveen goal machine Bas Dost.

Wolfsburg have stolen a march on Everton and Arsenal by registering a £6.5m bid for Dutch striker Bas Dost, according to reports.

The Heerenveen star has hit an incredible 32 goals in 25 Eredivisie games this season.

Aston Villa were thought to be in the driving seat to land the 22-year-old at one stage, but the Daily Mail understands that the Bundesliga club have now launched a bid.

Reports suggest that David Moyes and Steve Round were impressed with Dost after travelling to Holland for Heerenveen's visit to FC Twente.
