Report: Barcelona consider £30m bid for Arsenal's Mesut Ozil

Barcelona are reportedly considering a £30m swoop for Arsenal midfielder Mesut Ozil, who signed for the Gunners from Real Madrid last summer for a club-record fee of £42.5m.

Barcelona are reportedly considering a £30m swoop for Arsenal's club-record signing Mesut Ozil when the transfer window opens this summer.

The German international made the move to the Emirates from Real Madrid last summer, but has faced criticism for his performances throughout the campaign.

Now that FIFA have suspended Barcelona's year-long transfer ban pending the outcome of an appeal, the Catalans are free to spend at the end of the season.

According to reports in Spain, Barcelona TV has claimed that Barca will make an approach to Arsenal, who would take a significant hit considering they paid £42.5m for the midfielder.

Recently, Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger claimed that Ozil will be one of the standout players in the Premier League next season.
