Aston Villa to replace Dean Smith with John Terry?

Aston Villa are allegedly contemplating whether to replace manager Dean Smith with his assistant John Terry.

Aston Villa have reportedly identified John Terry as a potential replacement for manager Dean Smith.

Despite having reached this season's EFL Cup final, Villa have struggled for consistency in the Premier League, leaving the club sitting in the relegation zone.

Earlier this week, it was claimed that the club's hierarchy are considering parting company with Smith, who has witnessed his team lose their last five games in all competitions.

According to Football Insider, Terry is in the running to take over the reins at the West Midlands outfit should Smith be removed from his position.

The former Chelsea captain has been assistant to Smith throughout his reign, which began in October 2018.

Unless Villa beat Terry's former club on Saturday evening, a change could be made in the following days.
