Barcelona and Atletico Madrid are reportedly holding negotiations regarding a potential swap deal involving Antoine Griezmann and Joao Felix.
The pair have previously been linked with a move in the opposite directions, only for finances to be deemed too complex at various times.
However, according to ESPN, discussions have started between the two clubs in the hope of finding a resolution which suits all parties.
Barcelona are keen to sign a new frontman before close of business on Tuesday, even if it means allowing Griezmann to return to Wanda Metropolitano.
The report adds that there is currently a feeling that a mutual agreement may prove difficult to reach with just hours remaining of the summer transfer window.
Felix was signed as Griezmann's replacement when the France international moved to Camp Nou in 2019.
