The January transfer window has now closed, leaving Chelsea to begin looking forward to the summer for their next round of recruitment.
Here, Sports Mole rounds up the latest news on possible comings and goings from Stamford Bridge.
Monday morning's Chelsea transfer talk news roundup:
Bayern Munich announce Dayot Upamecano signing
Bayern Munich have confirmed that Dayot Upamecano will join the club from RB Leipzig in the summer transfer window.
The imposing Frenchman has been heavily linked with a move to the Premier League over the past year, with Manchester United, Liverpool and Chelsea all credited with an interest.
However, Bayern's interest in Upamecano was well-documented, and the Champions League winners have now confirmed that the centre-back will make the move to Munich on July 1.
The Bavarian giants are believed to have triggered the 22-year-old's €42.5m (£38m) release clause, and he is poised to join Bayern on a five-year contract until the summer of 2026.
Speaking to the official Bayern Munich website, Board member for sport Hasan Salihamidzic said: "We're happy that we've been able to sign Dayot Upamecano for FC Bayern München. We're convinced that Dayot will be a very important member of our team in the coming years."
The signing of Upamecano could pave the way for David Alaba to leave the club, with the Real Madrid-linked Austrian's deal set to expire in the summer.
Upamecano has made 139 appearances for Leipzig across all competitions, including 26 during the 2020-21 campaign.
Antonio Rudiger keen for new Chelsea contract?
Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger has hinted that he wants to sign a new contract at the London outfit.
The former Roma man struggled for consistent game time during the Frank Lampard era, but since the arrival of his compatriot Thomas Tuchel, Rudiger has starred in the Chelsea defence.
The centre-back remained at Stamford Bridge over the last two transfer windows despite being linked with a move elsewhere, and with his current deal set to expire in 2022, he has seemingly sent a message to the Chelsea hierarchy indicating that he wants to stay on.
Speaking to Sky Sports News, Rudiger said: "Inside myself, I was always calm and relaxed, I'll be very honest. I was not going crazy because I was not playing at the beginning and when you're not in the squad, you think 'oh wow, what's happening?
"But then suddenly I was back in the team and got some games. From that moment on, my head was 'I'm staying here at Chelsea and trying to fight for my spot'. In the last games of Frank Lampard, I was featuring even more.
"Lampard in or out, I would have stayed anyway. The thing is I cannot give myself a new contract. The talks have to come from the board, from Marina [Granovskaia], I'm very calm when it comes to that."
Rudiger has played the full 90 minutes in Chelsea's last six Premier League games, including all four since Tuchel took the reins in the English capital.
