Nicolas Tagliafico will sign a new deal at Ajax next week but will be allowed to leave the Dutch giants next summer, according to a report.

Nicolas Tagliafico will reportedly sign a new deal at Ajax next week but will still be free to leave the Dutch giants at the end of the 2020-21 campaign.

The left-back was strongly linked with a move away from his current side during the summer transfer window, but the deadline passed with the Argentina international still in Amsterdam.

According to De Telegraaf, Tagliafico will soon pen a new deal with Ajax, extending his contract until June 2023 in the process, but he will be allowed to leave next summer.

The report claims that an 'informal agreement' means that the 28-year-old will be free to join a 'top European club' ahead of the 2021-22 season as Ajax look to ensure that they receive the best possible price for the South American.

The full-back, who has been linked with both Chelsea and Manchester City, has made 110 appearances for his Dutch club in all competitions, contributing 12 goals and 16 assists in the process.

Tagliafico has already featured on 11 occasions for Erik ten Hag's side this season.
