Chelsea have reportedly received 'an official offer' from Torino for Cesare Casadei.
Despite being made available for transfer during the summer, no suitable proposals were presented for the midfielder.
The 21-year-old has instead bene provided with 424 minutes spread across six appearances in the Conference League and EFL Cup, yet he has rarely featured in a Premier League squad.
In recent days, it has been acknowledged that Monza hold an interest in providing the Italy Under-21 international with his first experience of Serie A football.
However, according to Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, they face stiff competition from clubs higher up the top-flight standings.

Di Marzio says that Torino have now taken the initiative by submitting a formal offer for the signature of Casadei.
The report adds that it is an offer to sign the former Inter Milan youngster on a permanent basis with Chelsea having the option of activating a buy-back clause in the future.
At a time when Chelsea would ideally like to bolster their position with the Premier League's Profit and Sustainability regulations, it is a scenario that could benefit all parties.
Furthermore, Chelsea have limited foreign loan slots available for the remainder of the campaign, making the alleged opportunity involving Casadei ideal on that front.
Lazio are also said to be admirers of Casadei at a time when the player is likely to prioritise first-team football over the stature of a club.

A replacement for Ricci?
Torino are said to be prioritising the arrival of a new midfielder in January, yet it is not made clear whether that is to replace Samuele Ricci.
The Italy international has been heavily linked with a transfer to the Premier League, most notably to Manchester City who require reinforcements in that area.
With Paolo Vanoli working with a five-player midfield, Casadei would expect to feature regularly regardless of whether Ricci stays at Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino or not.
