Bottom-of-the-table Coventry claimed a much-needed three points from their home fixture with Gustavo Poyet's Brighton & Hove Albion this afternoon.
Hosts Coventry dominated large parts of the match and broke the deadlock after 34 minutes. Winger Gary McSheffrey was the scorer, shooting into the net from just outside the area.
Their advantage was doubled eight minutes after the restart, with McSheffrey playing a part in the goal. On this occasion he provided the assist for striker Lukas Jutkiewicz to head in from close range.
The result means that Brighton have now gone four consecutive league matches without a win.
