Lille have kept their title hopes alive with a 2-0 victory over Dijon in a stormy contest at the Stade Gaston Gérard.
The first flash-point came when Idrissa Gana Gueye saw red for a bad challenge on Brice Jovial after 36 minutes.
That did not deter the visitors, who took the lead two minutes later through Rio Mavuba, who capped a fast counter attack after being supplied by Eden Hazard.
Hazard then made it two on the stroke of half time after another counter attack. This time, Nolan Roux was the provider.
The numbers were even just moments after the break when Abdoulaye Meite headed for an early bath following a bad foul on Nolan Roux.
Bennard Kumordzi was sent off in the 77th minute to ensure that the home side finished the game with nine men.
The win sees Lille go two points behind second-placed Paris Saint-Germain.
