England captain Wayne Rooney has admitted that he is keen to end 2014 on a high by beating Scotland in Tuesday's friendly at Celtic Park.
Following their disappointing World Cup campaign, the Three Lions have restored a degree of pride by winning their last five matches in all competitions.
With England not returning to action until March 2015, Rooney is eager for the national team to finish the year with a victory against their neighbours.
"We are on a good run at the moment and I think it's important we continue this form and getting the results because we know our next game is in March and it will be disappointing if we come off a bad result with such a long wait," he told reporters.
"I've played here in the Champions League. It will be loud and intense. I've spoken to the players to make sure they're ready because if you're not, it can take you by surprise."
Rooney marked his 100th appearance for England with a goal on Saturday during a 3-1 win over Slovenia in Euro 2016 qualifying.
