Everton working on keeping Romelu Lukaku, Gareth Barry

Everton chairman Bill Kenwright reveals that the club are trying to keep loan stars Romelu Lukaku and Gareth Barry.

Everton chairman Bill Kenwright has revealed that the club are working on keeping last season's loan stars Romelu Lukaku and Gareth Barry at the club.

The duo played key roles in Everton sealing fifth spot in the Premier League table during their temporary stints at Goodison Park.

Both players' futures are unresolved as Barry is out of contract at Manchester City and Lukaku's position at Chelsea under manager Jose Mourinho is less than certain.

Kenwright told Sky Sports News: "Lukaku we would love to keep. Gareth Barry we would love to keep and that is ongoing work and we obviously have to add to the squad, so it is non-stop."

Yesterday, the Merseyside club announced that manager Roberto Martinez has signed a new five-year contract.
