Ronald Koeman: 'Oumar Niasse needs to leave Everton'

Everton manager Ronald Koeman tells Oumar Niasse and Aiden McGeady to leave the club if they want first-team football this season.

Everton manager Ronald Koeman has warned Oumar Niasse and Aiden McGeady that they are not part of his plans this season.

Niasse joined the Toffees in January for £13.5m, but started just two games under Roberto Martinez and has already been told that he is surplus to requirements by new boss Koeman.

The Dutchman reiterated his stance when asked about Niasse's future again, and also revealed that he is looking to sell McGeady and others before the end of the transfer window.

"We will make a fast decision about Niasse and about McGeady, maybe one or two or three more," he told reporters.

"It will be very difficult for them to be part of the team because we have a big squad. If [Niasse] likes to play football he needs to leave."

Koeman was less forthcoming about the futures of Joe Hart and Lamine Kone, who have both been linked with Goodison Park recently.
