Football accumulator: Five Tuesday tips

Leeds can move top of the Championship with a win at Reading.

We are now at the business end of the season with promotion and relegation ramifications at stake across the Football League.

Here, we have chosen five games from Tuesday night's packed programme for our football accumulator.

Leeds to win at Reading

With leaders Norwich not playing until Wednesday, Leeds can go top of the Championship with victory at relegation-threatened Reading. Marcelo Bielsa's side have recorded successive wins over West Brom and Bristol City since a disappointing defeat at QPR. Reading have also won two in a row and are unbeaten in three but they were all against teams in the bottom five. The Royals have lost all eight matches they've played against the current top six this season.

Luton to win at Bradford

Luton sit three points clear at the top of League One and are unbeaten in 23 league games. The Hatters are also yet to taste defeat at Kenilworth Road, winning 14 and drawing four of their matches. Bradford sit second bottom and have been beaten nine times at home but they did snap a five-game winless run by beating Peterborough 3-1 at Valley Parade on Saturday in Gary Bowyer's first match in charge. The Bantams have lost all nine games against teams in the top six.

Charlton to beat Burton

Charlton boosted their play-off prospects with a 2-1 win over promotion rivals Portsmouth at The Valley on Saturday which stretched their unbeaten run to five games. The Addicks have gone 12 matches since last losing at home – conceding no more than one goal during that period – and should be too strong for Burton, who won for the first time in five at Coventry. That was their first victory at a top-half side and the Brewers are yet to beat any of the teams above them this season.

Colchester to beat Forest Green

Colchester got their play-off push back on track with a 3-0 home win over Newport at the weekend, halting a three-game winless run. The U's have won 10 times at Layer Road, losing on just four occasions. Forest Green's top-seven hopes have been hurt by a run of three successive losses and five in six, including to relegation-threatened Notts County and Morecambe. They have also lost their last three on the road – all without scoring. Rovers have only won one from nine matches against the top six this term.

Tranmere to beat Grimsby

Tranmere's impressive home record has left them in fifth place and with a chance of successive promotions. Rovers have been beaten just three times at home, conceding a measly nine goals in 18 encounters – the lowest in the division. Grimsby are now three without a win and have already tasted defeat on their travels 10 times this season – taking an average of just 2.8 shots on target per match – and have not managed a clean sheet on the road in six attempts. More misery will follow in the last of our footie acca for Tuesday night.
