Leicester City: 'Nigel Pearson remains in charge of club'

Leicester City state that Nigel Pearson still remains as the club's manager despite rumours that the 51-year-old had been given the sack.

Leicester City have stated that Nigel Pearson is still the club's manager following speculation that he had been given the sack.

Reports circulated on Sunday evening suggesting that the Foxes' coach had been relieved of his duties, but the club have now moved to issue a response regarding the 51-year-old's position.

"Contrary to media speculation on Sunday evening, Nigel remains the Club's First Team Manager. Reports to the contrary are inaccurate and without foundation," read a statement on the club's official website.

"Nigel, his staff and the first team squad are entirely focused on Tuesday night's trip to Arsenal and our continued efforts to secure our position in the Barclays Premier League."

The Foxes are currently rooted to the foot of the English top flight.
