Liverpool planning first-team role for Harvey Elliott?

Liverpool youngster Harvey Elliott can supposedly look forward to a more prominent first-team role under Jurgen Klopp from the 2021-22 season onwards.

Liverpool youngster Harvey Elliott could reportedly be in line for a more prominent first-team role when he returns from his loan spell at Blackburn Rovers.

The 17-year-old has settled into life in the Championship extremely well and boasts 14 goal contributions from 26 league matches - five goals and nine assists - including a stunning strike in Wednesday's 3-2 defeat to Watford.

Elliott only made one appearance for Liverpool this season in the EFL Cup before being shipped out on loan to Blackburn, but the teenager's performances have the Anfield faithful excited for his future on Merseyside.

Now, The Mirror claims that Elliott will enjoy more time in Jurgen Klopp's first team from the 2021-22 campaign onwards, especially with the Reds' attack set to be freshened up.

The report adds that Divock Origi and Xherdan Shaqiri are both expected to head for the exit door this summer, and with first-choice right-winger Mohamed Salah set to be away for the 2022 Africa Cup of Nations, Elliott will gain plenty of invaluable Premier League experience next season.

The England Under-19s international has made nine appearances for Liverpool's first team since arriving from Fulham, banking one assist in the EFL Cup win over Lincoln City in September.
