Jamie Redknapp: 'Liverpool have no chance of winning title'

Former Liverpool midfielder Jamie Redknapp says that the Reds have "no chance" of winning the Premier League title after losing 3-1 to West Ham United.

Jamie Redknapp has said Liverpool stand "no chance" of winning the Premier League after the Reds suffered their third loss of the season in a 3-1 defeat to West Ham United yesterday.

The former Liverpool midfielder said that he did not think that the Merseysiders would challenge for the title prior to the season due to the loss of Luis Suarez and their lacklustre start to the campaign has only strengthened his views.

"I don't put Liverpool in the equation to win the title," the 41-year-old told Sky Sports News. "I never have to be honest.

"I never did, because as soon as they lost one of the best players in the world and the best player in the Premier League last season it makes it impossible. For them to get into the top four should be the aim for this year.

"The title? No chance. Not when you haven't got Suarez in your team. He was such a difference and he made everything seem possible last year."

It was December before Liverpool lost three league games last season as they went on to finish second.
