Team News: Steven Gerrard on Liverpool bench for clash away at Swansea City

Liverpool midfielder Steven Gerrard is named on the Reds' bench ahead of their Premier League visit of Swansea City on Monday evening.

Swansea City have made one change from the side that beat Tottenham Hotspur 3-2 two weeks ago for this evening's Premier League clash against Liverpool at the Liberty Stadium.

Jordi Amat is slotted into the Swans' starting XI in place of Federico Fernandez, who is reported to have returned to Argentina for family reasons.

Bafetimbi Gomis keeps his place despite his collapse at White Hart Lane, but Kyle Bartley is ruled out with a knee injury.

Meanwhile the Reds see Steven Gerrard named on the bench despite returning from injury, with Joe Allen chosen to start ahead of him in the midfield, while Mamadou Sakho returns to the defence.

Brendan Rodgers's charges are also without striker Mario Balotelli, who misses out through illness.

Swansea City: Fabianski, Naughton, Amat, Williams, Taylor, Ki, Cork, Shelvey, Sigurdsson, Routledge, Gomis
Subs: Tremmel, Rangel, Britton, Dyer, Emnes, Montero, Oliviera

Liverpool: Mignolet, Can, Skrtel, Sakho, Allen, Henderson, Lallana, Moreno, Coutinho, Sterling, Sturridge
Subs: Jones, Johnson, Toure, Lovren, Gerrard, Markovic, Lambert
