Team News: Liverpool leave out Steven Gerrard for Burnley clash

Steven Gerrard is left out by Liverpool for their Premier League clash with Burnley.

Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard is not risked for the Premier League clash with Burnley, despite returning the training recently.

The Reds skipper is left out of the matchday squad as he continues his recovery from a hamstring problem.

Daniel Sturridge is recalled to the starting lineup at the expense of Lazar Markovic, as Liverpool make just one change from the 2-1 victory over Manchester City on Sunday.

However, the Merseyside outfit, the only top flight club yet to lose a league game in 2015, continue to be without Jordon Ibe, who is facing up to a month out with a knee ligament injury.

Burnley, who are second from bottom in the Premier League, continue with the same lineup which started the 1-0 defeat at home to Swansea City at the weekend.

Dean Marney, Kevin Long and Matthew Taylor are all long-term injury absentees.

Liverpool: Mignolet, Can, Skrtel, Lovren, Lallana, Henderson, Allen, Moreno, Sterling, Sturridge, Coutinho
Subs: Johnson, Toure, Lambert, Balotelli, Williams, Markovic, Ward

Burnley: Heaton, Trippier, Keane, Shackell, Mee, Boyd, Jones, Arfield, Kightly, Barnes, Ings
Subs: Duff, Wallace, Vokes, Reid, Jutkiewicz, Gilks, Ward
