Malaga have confirmed that manager Manuel Pellegrini will leave the club at the end of the season.
The 59-year-old Chilean revealed earlier on Wednesday that he would be stepping down from his role with the Spanish side this summer.
Pellegrini has been heavily linked with taking over at Manchester City following Roberto Mancini's recent sacking at the Etihad Stadium.
"Everyone has the right and obligation to follow his path and Malaga have to take another to me now," he told Malaga's official website. "The club have the funding and the will to have a successful future.
"Malaga will have their story without me and also going to have a future without me."
Pellegrini joined Malaga in 2010 after spells with Villarreal and Real Madrid.
