Manchester City bidding to set new all-time winning record against Sheffield United

Manchester City will attempt to set a new all-time winning record when they face Sheffield United on Saturday.

Manchester City will be aiming to set a new all-time winning record when they welcome Sheffield United to the Etihad Stadium in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.

The Citizens are currently on a run of 11 straight wins in all competitions, including seven straight Premier League successes over Southampton, Newcastle United, Chelsea, Brighton & Hove Albion, Crystal Palace, Aston Villa and West Bromwich Albion.

Pep Guardiola's side have also beaten Arsenal and Manchester United in the EFL Cup, in addition to recording FA Cup victories over Birmingham City and Cheltenham Town.

City will now be looking to make it 12 consecutive wins in all competitions for the first time in their history when they welcome the league's basement side to Manchester.

The home side will enter the contest off the back of a 5-0 win at West Brom on Tuesday night, which helped the club move to the top of the Premier League table.

Sheffield United should arrive in a confident mood, though, having recorded a shock 2-1 victory over second-placed Man United on Wednesday evening.
