Barcelona's three presidential candidates have reportedly failed to reach an agreement over signing Manchester City defender Eric Garcia in January.
As a result of their financial problems and the delay in club elections, there is said to be tension behind the scenes at Camp Nou.
The Catalan giants are known to be interested in signing Garcia, who has less than six months remaining on his contract at Man City.
While a move on a free transfer appears likely for the summer, Marca claims that there is no chance of a January resolution being reached after talks with Victor Font, Joan Laporta and Toni Freixa.
Although Font was happy for an €8m (£7.14m) offer to be put forward to City, Laporta and Freixa would not agree to the terms of the transfer.
The delay in presidential elections is expected to leave Ronald Koeman unable to make new any additions before the end of the month.
