Manchester United must now turn their attention to the summer transfer window having left their business until late in January.
The Red Devils brought in Bruno Fernandes and Odion Ighalo in the final days of the winter window but are still expected to be active in the summer as they aim to restore their former glories.
Here, Sports Mole rounds up the latest news on possible comings and goings from Old Trafford.
Saturday morning's Manchester United transfer talk news roundup:
Manchester United 'weighing up Alexander Sorloth move'
Manchester United are reportedly considering boosting their attack with a summer move for Crystal Palace striker Alexander Sorloth.
The 24-year-old has only scored once in 20 appearances for Palace since joining the Premier League club from Danish side FC Midtjylland in January 2018.
Sorloth has been in excellent form on loan at Trabzonspor this season, though, scoring 29 goals and providing 10 assists in 45 appearances for the Turkish outfit.
The Norway international has struck 21 times in 31 Super Lig appearances this term and is due to remain on loan with Huseyin Cimsir's side until the end of next season.
However, according to Fanatik, United are following the striker's progress as they consider making an attempt to sign him during this summer's transfer window.
Sorloth's current deal at Selhurst Park is due to expire in June 2022.
Manchester United 'join the race for £60m Ben Chilwell'
Manchester United are reportedly ready to battle Chelsea and Manchester City for the signature of Leicester City defender Ben Chilwell during this summer's transfer window.
The England international is expected to leave the Foxes ahead of the 2020-21 campaign, and both Chelsea and City have been credited with an interest in his services.
However, according to The Sun, United are ready to 'battle it out' with their Premier League rivals for the left-back, with Red Devils boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer determined to build a title-winning side.
The 23-year-old has been in impressive form for Brendan Rodgers's side during the 2019-20 season, scoring three times and providing four assists in 33 appearances in all competitions.
Leicester are believed to value Chilwell in the region of £60m and are in a strong position when it comes to negotiations as they have the defender on a contract until June 2024.
Luke Shaw is currently United's first-choice left-back, and the former Southampton youngster is arguably enjoying his most productive season for the club since arriving in 2014.
