Sunday's Manchester United transfer talk news roundup: Ansu Fati, Chris Smalling, Milan Skriniar

Sports Mole rounds up the latest transfer talk for Manchester United on Sunday, September 27.

The summer transfer window has now begun, with rumours and speculation continuing to swirl as Manchester United eye possible reinforcements.

The Red Devils brought in Bruno Fernandes and Odion Ighalo in the final days of the winter window but are still expected to be active in the summer as they aim to restore their former glories.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up the latest news on possible comings and goings from Old Trafford.

Sunday morning's Manchester United transfer talk news roundup:

Barcelona 'reject £137m offer for Manchester United-linked Ansu Fati'

Barcelona have reportedly rejected a €150m (£137m) offer for teenage attacker Ansu Fati.

The 17-year-old enjoyed a breakthrough 2019-20 campaign for the Catalan giants, scoring eight times and providing one assist in 33 appearances in all competitions.

Fati recently signed a new long-term contract with Ronald Koeman's side, with his release clause being raised to €400m (£367m).

According to Marca, Barca recently received an offer of €150m (£137m) for the Spain international, with the club being made aware of the approach by the teenager's agent Jorge Mendes.

The report claims that the La Liga side would have received €125m (£114m) plus a further €25m (£23m) in add-ons had they agreed to the deal, but it was never considered as an option.

Manchester United were strongly linked with a move Fati earlier this summer, although the Red Devils have not officially been named as the club in question.

Fati became the youngest goalscorer in Barca's history when he registered against Osasuna in La Liga at the age of 16 years and 304 days in August 2019.

Inter Milan plan move for Man United's Chris Smalling if Milan Skriniar leaves?

Inter Milan have reportedly identified Manchester United defender Chris Smalling as a potential replacement for Milan Skriniar.

Having spent a successful period on loan at Roma last season, Smalling is currently pushing to secure a return to Stadio Olimpico.

However, with his former club yet to meet United's alleged £18m asking price, it leaves the Englishman having to be open to other offers.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Inter may make an approach for the 30-year-old if they part ways with Skriniar.

Tottenham Hotspur have been heavily linked with the Slovakia international, who is valued in excess of £50m by the Serie A and Europa League runners-up.

The North London outfit are said to have been informed that they will have to improve their current proposal, which includes at least one player.
