New Chelsea signing Pedro has revealed that Manchester City were in the hunt to sign him along with local rivals Manchester United.
The Spaniard was heavily linked with a switch to Old Trafford, but in a dramatic turn of events last week, the winger joined the West London outfit for a £21.4m fee.
While United manager Louis van Gaal attempted to play down the club's pursuit of Pedro, the player himself has confirmed that the Red Devils were serious contenders for his signature.
The 28-year-old also revealed in today's farewell press conference in Barcelona that former English champions City were interested in buying him.
"I was very flattered by the interest from some of England's biggest clubs - United, City and Chelsea," AS quotes Pedro as saying. "Chelsea's offer convinced me most."
The winger scored on his debut in Sunday's 3-2 win over West Bromwich Albion at The Hawthorns.
