Barcelona reportedly identify four attacking targets for the January transfer window, including Manchester United's Edinson Cavani.

Barcelona have reportedly identified four attacking targets for the January transfer window, with incoming head coach Xavi determined to boost his forward options.

Xavi is on the verge of being appointed Barcelona manager, and the Spaniard has allegedly already decided to cut Luuk de Jong's loan spell from Sevilla short.

Sergio Aguero is out for the next three months after suffering with chest pain last weekend, meanwhile, and the Catalan giants are therefore seeking another player in the final third of the field.

According to Sport, Manchester United's Edinson Cavani, Arsenal's Alexandre Lacazette, Manchester City's Raheem Sterling and Red Bull Salzburg's Karim Adeyemi are all options.

Cavani and Lacazette are out of contract at their respective clubs next summer, while Sterling continues to be linked with a move away from the Etihad Stadium, as he is no longer guaranteed a starting role at the club.

Adeyemi's future has also been the subject of much speculation, with a number of clubs said to be tracking the 19-year-old, who has 14 goals in 21 appearances for his Austrian team this season.
