Wage demands put Ron Vlaar's Aston Villa future in doubt?

Aston Villa could reportedly lose Ron Vlaar in January if the club do not meet his wage demands.

Ron Vlaar's time at Aston Villa could reportedly be coming to an end unless the club offer a significant boost in wages for the defender.

The 29-year-old, who impressed for the Netherlands during the World Cup in Brazil, has been linked with a move to Manchester United.

According to the Daily Star, Vlaar's future hinges on whether Villa are prepared to double his wages, but it is believed that a £50,000-a-week offer is unlikely to convince the defender to stay put.

Reports have claimed that Vlaar, who comes to the end of his current contract next summer, could leave for United in January for around £4m.
