Wolverhampton Wanderers are allegedly among the clubs who are contemplating whether to make an approach Barcelona winger Ansu Fati.

Barcelona winger Ansu Fati has reportedly emerged as a potential transfer target for Wolverhampton Wanderers.

When he first burst onto the scene at Camp Nou, Fati was regarded as the heir to the throne of Lionel Messi as he starred during his teenage years.

However, while Fati has gone on to contribute 26 goals and nine assists from 103 appearances, the 20-year-old's stock with the Catalan giants has fallen.

Xavi does not regard Fati as a regular member of the starting lineup at a time when it is known that the La Liga leaders must make financial cutbacks in the summer.

Despite Fati allegedly being keen to continue his career at Barcelona, it has been widely reported that the club are keen to cash in on his services.

A recent report suggested that agent Jorge Mendes has already informed Barcelona officials that he will be able to attract a big-money bid from a Premier League club.

An offer of €70m (£61.7m) would allegedly be enough for Barcelona in the summer, with the likes of Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur having recently been linked with the Spain international.

According to Spanish journalist Jose Alvarez, via Sport, Wolves may join Spurs and Newcastle United in making a bid for the playmaker.

The West Midlands outfit are currently bidding to remain in the Premier League, holding a seven-point gap above the relegation zone with four matches remaining.

Nevertheless, Wolves have held a strong working relationship with Mendes in the past, and the English team and Barcelona are no strangers to doing business.

The likes of Nelson Semedo and Adama Traore have gone in different directions in recent years, while it was once expected that Ruben Neves would eventually move to Camp Nou before the arrival of Xavi.

Alvarez says that Barcelona may be prepared to accept in the region of €40m (£35.26m) and €50m (£44.08m) if it means guaranteeing that they can give their FFP position a much-needed boost.

Although Wolves are well stocked for options in the final third, Traore could leave on a free transfer in the summer, while at least one of Raul Jimenez or Diego Costa is expected to be moved on by the club's owners.
