New England Revolution 3-3 Chivas USA

New England Revolution are held to a 3-3 draw at home to Chivas USA after surrendering a three-goal lead.

Chivas USA have come from three goals behind to claim a draw against the New England Revolution in the Eastern Conference.

The hosts put their opponents on the back foot immediately and were ahead after four minutes when Saer Sene found space in the box to finish well from close range.

New England continued to pressure a vulnerable Chivas defence and they were rewarded for their efforts as Rauwshan McKenzie put the ball into his own net from a free kick.

The game looked to be over as a contest after 21 minutes when Sene unleashed a powerful strike from outside the area that left Dan Kennedy helpless in the Chivas goal.

However, Shalrie Joseph's header kept any slim hopes of a positive result for Chivas alive just two minutes later.

Sene could have completed his hat-trick before the break but it was Chivas who scored a vital goal in the 45th minute, when Shalrie Joseph struck a low effort past Matt Reis.

Chivas completed an astonishing comeback just two minutes after the interval, when Casey Townsend picked out Miller Bolanos and the midfielder made no mistake from close range to level the contest.

Both sides pushed for a winner but some poor finishing meant that the match ended as a draw.
