West Ham United striker Andy Carroll open to Newcastle United return?

Andy Carroll is reportedly open to leaving West Ham United for his boyhood club Newcastle United in January.

West Ham United striker Andy Carroll would reportedly consider a return to his boyhood club Newcastle United.

The Magpies have been linked with a move for the 26-year-old, who has made just six Premier League appearances this season due to injuries.

Carroll left Newcastle in 2011 to join Liverpool for £35m, but he left Anfield for Upton Park two years later for a fee of £15m.

According to The Shields Gazette, Carroll is open to the idea of returning to St James' Park, but West Ham will only consider selling in January if they receive a bid well in excess of what they paid.

The striker has scored 21 league goals since leaving Newcastle four years ago.
