Leroy Fer: 'We need to create more chances'

Norwich City midfielder Leroy Fer is learning the ropes in English football quickly following his debut in the Canaries' 1-0 loss to Hull on Saturday.

New Norwich City midfielder Leroy Fer has revealed that he has already learned the importance of creating plenty of chances in the Premier League.

Fer made his debut for the Canaries during their 1-0 defeat at the hands of Hull City on Saturday, a match that saw the newly-promoted side reduced to 10 men.

Norwich failed to find an equaliser despite their man advantage, leaving them with just one point from their opening two games, but Fer believes that he will improve on a personal level the more he gets used to English football.

"My first game has taught me we have to create a lot of chances. Against Hull we didn't really create so many chances and against 10 men, I think you have to have three or four 100 per cent chances, but we just didn't create them," Fer told PA.

"I think it's a really physical game here in the Premier League and a lot of up and down, up and down, defend and then attack.

"So it's good for your conditioning and I have to work on that but I'm glad I played 90 minutes. In Holland it's less physical and powerful but I think I have to work on that conditioning and I will be better in the next game."

Norwich's next match comes in the League Cup, where they will face League Two side Bury.
