Good morning! Queens Park Rangers manager Harry Redknapp is due to speak to the media in around 15 minutes ahead of his return to White Hart Lane for the first time since leaving Tottenham Hotspur.

It's been a busy couple of days for QPR in the transfer market. Redknapp's squad for this match will be boosted by the arrival of striker Leroy Fer from Norwich City, and Eduardo Vargas on loan from Napoli.

The Hoops didn't have the return to the top flight that they wanted last week, losing 1-0 to Hull City on their return to the top flight. In that match, Charlie Austin missed a penalty that would have earned QPR a point, but Redknapp has already confirmed that he plans to keep the striker as the team's designated spot-kick taker.

Vargas could certainly feature this weekend, Redknapp has already indicated that he plans to use the loan signing in a variety of positions this season.

Redknapp will probably face questions about his return to his former club at this morning's press conference. The manager was popular with the Spurs fans during his spell in charge at the club, and will surely receive a warm reception at White Hart Lane this weekend.

Don't forget, you'll be able to follow live coverage of this match, as well as more build up, team news and reaction from White Hart Lane with Sports Mole throughout the weekend.

The press conference was due to start at 9.45am, but we're still waiting for Redknapp to take his seat at the moment. There has been a player press conference taking place with Richard Dunne this morning, so that may have thrown the timings out a little.

While we're waiting for the manager, let's look at the next few fixtures for the team. QPR play Burton Albion in the League Cup midweek, before hosting Sunderland next weekend. After the international break, it will be a tricky trip to Old Trafford to face Manchester United, before returning to Loftus Road to face Stoke City. It's certainly not the easiest start to the season for last season's Championship playoff winners.

Here he is, Redknapp is in his seat with a cup of coffee ready to face the media, let's see what he has to say...

The first order of business is to talk about the two new signings, Leroy Fer and Eduardo Vargas. Redknapp insists that the club are "really pleased" to have secured the duo.

Unfortunately, there will be no Vargas this weekend because he is still waiting for his work permit, but Redknapp says: "Our overseas scouts have been mentioning [Vargas] for a long time. He's a real livewire, busy and strong. [He] should be ok for next weekend once he gets his work permit."

However, Redknapp reveals that Fer will make his debut: "[Fer] will come straight into the squad. He's a really good signing for us. A top, top midfielder]."

While there have been a couple of new arrivals this week, French striker Loic Remy continues to be linked with a move away from Loftus Road. The manager hopes that this will not be the case: "I'm confident Loic will be here. I've spoken to him and his attitude has been first class. He's enjoying it here. I think Loic has seen the players we've signed and he's been impressed. He's a great lad and we're happy to have him"."

Another recent arrival at the team has been Glenn Hoddle, another former Tottenham manager, who joined the club as a first-team coach earlier this month. Despite his relatively recent appointment, Hoddle has been linked with the vacancy at Crystal Palace, but Redknapp is confident that he will stay: "I want Glenn to stay here. I desperately want him to stay and I think he will do."

Sticking with the Crystal Palace vacancy, Redknapp is asked about the accusations against Malky Mackay, where the former Cardiff manager, who was thought to be on the verge of joining Palace earlier this week, was accused of sending racist and derogatory messages. Redknapp says: "Malky has made a big mistakes, a big, big mistake, but he's a fantastic lad. People make mistakes."

Back to matters at QPR, Redknapp is asked about the system that he used against Hull last weekend. He replies: "I've been pleased with the system. Last week was the best we've played in my time here at any stage. I like the 3-5-2. It's not new. It's been around years. It's a system I've liked. It gets you two strikers in your team."

Attention turns to Redknapp's return to his former club. While insisting that he is focused on the match, the Hoops manager tells reporters: "I'm looking forward to going back to Spurs, but it's just about three points for [QPR]. I had a fantastic time at Spurs, I really enjoyed my time there and we did very well. I like the Spurs manager, they've got a good squad, they'll be up there for sure."

Still on his return to Tottenham, Redknapp adds: "I shouldn't get a bad reception. I won't be getting over-excited though. It's just another game for us."

On the match itself, Redknapp admits it will be a tough test for his side: "I'm expecting an attacking game, I think they'l press us. They're a top side, they should be pushing for the top four. Spurs were a top four side when I was there, and that's where they should be. That's the aim for them surely."

With just over a week until the end of the summer transfer window, Redknapp is asked whether there will be more arrivals at Loftus Road this summer: "We've still got two domestic loans from the Premier League that we could use, we're looking to push on. [Chairman] Tony Fernandes and the board have been absolutely fantastic, they want this club to push on to the next level."

And on that note, Redknapp bid the assembled media a farewell. There were certainly some interesting points from the QPR boss this morning. Hoops fans will have Leroy Fer's debut to look forward to this weekend, and potentially some more new signings to come over the next week, although Redknapp is expecting a tough match on his return to White Hart Lane.

That's all from this press conference, but join us again this afternoon as we'll be hearing from Chelsea's Jose Mourinho, Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers and Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal, and don't forget to return on Sunday for live coverage of QPR's clash with Tottenham. Until then, thanks for joining me this morning, goodbye.
