Queens Park Rangers give 'full backing' to Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink

Queens Park Rangers announce that manager Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink has the 'full backing' of the club's board following an investigation.

Queens Park Rangers have reiterated their 'full backing' of manager Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink following his involvement in a media sting operation last month.

The Hoops boss was filmed by undercover reporters working for The Telegraph negotiating a deal to act as a representative for a fictitious firm in the Far East.

Hasselbaink has strongly denied any accusations of any improper conduct but admitted that he had been "naive" to enter talks with the reporters.

In a statement today, QPR confirmed that they had concluded their investigation, despite being unable to gain full co-operation from The Telegraph.

"Throughout the comprehensive investigation, the club contacted and communicated with all the major parties involved, including The Telegraph, who failed to provide the club with the information previously requested," the statement read.

"Despite a number of requests from both the club and Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink's legal team for the information relating to the inferences made on September 28, including video footage and a full transcript of the discussions that took place, nothing has been forthcoming.

"As a result, and in the absence of any further evidence, the Board fully back QPR manager Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink and his explanations relating to these inferences. Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink openly admitted he was naive and, as such, has been reminded of his roles and responsibilities as manager of Queens Park Rangers Football Club. He remains fully focused on his job as QPR manager, and he does so with the Board's unanimous support."

QPR - currently 13th in the Championship - welcome Reading to Loftus Road when league action resumes tomorrow.
