Former Real Madrid midfielder David Beckham has insisted that Gareth Bale remains one of the world's best players.
Bale has come under pressure from Madrid's fans in recent weeks due to a nine-game run without a goal.
However, the Welshman got back on the scoresheet last weekend as he found the net twice in a 2-0 win for Los Blancos over Levante.
With a trip to bitter rivals Barcelona up next for Madrid on Sunday, Beckham has dismissed suggestions that Bale's powers are fading.
"Last season was a perfect season for him; this season, he's still doing well but there's always going to be moments when he doesn't do as well in games – that's normal as he is one of the best players," the ex-England captain told AS. "He's scored great goals already this season and he's a great character. For me, he's one of the best."
Bale has scored a total of 16 goals in 38 appearances for Real Madrid during the current campaign.
