New York Red Bulls sign defender Anthony Wallace

New York Red Bulls unveil new signing Anthony Wallace after a successful trial stint at the club.

New York Red Bulls have announced the signing of defender Anthony Wallace following a successful trial.

The 26-year-old had been training with the club since the start of the second pre-season camp during the winter.

The club has confirmed that he will join the first team and could feature against Columbus Crew at the weekend.

Sporting director Ali Curtis said: "We are excited to add Anthony to our club. Anthony has experience in MLS and performed well in pre-season camp with the team. His style of play and the type of person he is fits what we are looking to establish with our organisation."

The Red Bulls are currently second in the Eastern Conference standings, one point behind new franchise New York City FC.
