Ralf Fahrmann pleased with point against Mainz 05

Ralf Fahrmann is happy with a point against Mainz 05, despite Schalke 04 missing the chance to go third on Friday night.

Schalke 04 goalkeeper Ralf Fahrmann has insisted that his side should not be disappointed with their point in the 0-0 draw against Mainz 05 on Friday night.

A win would have moved Schalke into the top three of the Bundesliga, but instead Fahrmann had to play well to keep a clean sheet, and the keeper believes that his performance gives the team confidence for the Champions League clash against Real Madrid.

"Mainz played really well tonight and we have to be happy with the point," he told Bundesliga.com. "We kept a clean sheet.

"I've always said that I'd wait for my chance and I'm just happy to be playing for Schalke.

"The anticipation is huge for the Real Madrid game. We're underdogs but they're beatable and we have a chance."

Schalke have not lost in the league since December 7.
