Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly nearing an agreement with Cagliari for Nahitan Nandez.
The 25-year-old, who was strongly linked with Leeds United earlier this summer, scored twice and registered three assists in 34 appearances for his Italian club last season.
Nandez still has three years left to run on his contract with Cagliari, but the speculation surrounding the Uruguay international's future has gathered pace over the last couple of weeks.
A recent report claimed that Tottenham were in contact with the midfielder's Serie A club to discuss a possible deal before this summer's transfer window closes for business.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Spurs are now closing in on the South American, who could move to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on loan for the 2021-22 campaign.
The report claims that the North London club are likely to pay in the region of €5m (£4.3m) to loan the midfielder with an obligation to buy for €20m (£17.1m) next summer.
Nandez, who started his professional career with Penarol, made five appearances for Uruguay at this summer's Copa America.
