Garry Monk: 'Ashley Williams will stay at Swansea City'

Swansea City manager Garry Monk has said that Ashley Williams will not leave the club this summer.

Swansea City manager Garry Monk has said that club captain Ashley Williams will not leave the club.

The central defender has been linked with moves to Everton and Crystal Palace this summer but it is thought that it would take a huge bid for Williams to leave.

"You can't stop speculation or anything like that, but it's exactly the same situation," Monk told BBC Sport.

"He's the captain of our club, he's captain of his country. It's a big year coming up for himself and he'll be doing very well in a white [Swansea] shirt."

The 30-year-old, whose contract runs until 2017, has won 51 caps for Wales
