Tranmere Rovers sign Bradley Watkins on loan

Aston Villa goalkeeper Bradley Watkins joins Tranmere Rovers on a one-month loan switch.

Tranmere Rovers have completed the signing of Aston Villa goalkeeper Bradley Watkins on a one-month youth loan deal.

The 19-year-old has linked up with the League One club to provide cover for Owain Fon Williams.

Manager Ronnie Moore told Tranmere's official website: "Jason Mooney and Sam Ramsbottom are both unavailable through injury so it was important we brought in cover for Owain Fon Williams.

"Bradley is highly thought of at Aston Villa and did well for their Under-20 side in Europe last season. I'd like to thank [Villa manager] Paul Lambert for letting Bradley join us for a month."

Tranmere face Bradford City on Saturday.
