West Bromwich Albion boss Steve Clarke is weighing up a cut-price reunion with Ivory Coast striker Salomon Kalou.

West Bromwich Albion manager Steve Clarke is reportedly considering a cut-price deal to hand Salomon Kalou a Premier League return at The Hawthorns.

Clarke worked closely with Kalou at Chelsea during his time as assistant manager to Blues boss Jose Mourinho.

Kalou scored 15 goals in Ligue 1 for Lille last season after a Bosman switch, but has been vocal about his desire to secure a return to England before his career ends.

The Ivory Coast forward would want wages of around £30,000 but Clarke is giving serious thought to meeting Kalou's demands in an effort to boost his striking options, according to The Mirror.

West Brom are short of forwards after Romelu Lukaku ended his loan spell in the Midlands, with Peter Odemwingie and Markus Rosenberg expected to follow Marc-Antoine Fortune out of The Hawthorns.

The Baggies have been linked with a string of attacking alternatives in the last few weeks, including Franco di Santo and Nicolas Anelka.
