Former West Ham striker Savio has been reported missing in Italy.
Interpol have been called in to assist the search for the Ugandan-born German player, who is currently on loan at Serie B club Juve Stabia from Fiorentina.
Savio, 22, has not been heard from since texting his manager last week to say he would be missing training.
"The player's mother lodged a complaint with Interpol and the police have released a photo of him to try to find him soon. Currently there is still no trace of the player," said Salvatore Di Somma, sporting director of Juve Stabia.
Savio made 10 goalless appearances for West Ham in 2009 before being sold to Fiorentina for an undisclosed fee.
