Sam Allardyce says that he expects Mohamed Diame to put in a committed display if selected when West Ham United travel to Fulham on Wednesday.

West Ham United manager Sam Allardyce is expecting midfielder Mohamed Diame to put in a committed display if selected for the trip to Fulham tonight.

The Senegal international's future at Upton Park has been cast into doubt over the past month, with Arsenal reportedly keen on acquiring the services of the 25-year-old, who has a £3.5m buyout clause in his contract.

Diame has previously declared that he is happy with the Hammers, and Allardyce believes that the player should put on a passionate display in their next outing.

"Diame is a professional," said Allardyce. "He is paid to play for West Ham United.

"I expect everyone to put the shirt on and play with a passion, with the ability and desire that they have got.

"He has had a long spell off with a hamstring injury and is only finding his feet again. My plan is that I am playing him because I hope and I believe he is going to be here after Thursday."

Diame joined West Ham from Wigan Athletic in the summer.
