FIFA president Sepp Blatter reveals his happiness at the current success story of the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.

FIFA president Sepp Blatter has revealed his pleasure at the success of the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.

The tournament has seen a record-breaking number of goals scored, while a cohort of planned protests are yet to disrupt the running of the footballing showpiece.

"I am a very happy man today. It is a success of the country, of this game," said Blatter at a seminar in Brazil.

"I would like to address my compliments to the people of Brazil. They accepted this World Cup. Let's cross fingers, hoping that the last games will take place with the same pattern, the same atmosphere."

The next fixture of the tournament takes place on Friday night, as France face Germany in the first game of the quarter-final stage.
