Williams driver Pastor Maldonado has insisted that he has nothing to prove, despite the recent performances of teammate Valtteri Bottas.
Bottas qualified for the Canadian Grand Prix in third position while Maldonado was 13th fastest, but the Venezuelan driver believes that the Finn had the better of the conditions.
The 28-year-old told Globo Esporte: "The conditions benefited Valtteri in Canada. It doesn't mean he's faster and I'm slower.
"Our car is quite difficult, but I don't need to prove anything to anybody"
Neither driver has finished in a top-10 position in the opening seven races of the season.
