Brandt Snedeker shoots 59 in opening round of Wyndham Championship

Brandt Snedeker shoots an opening-round 59 at the Wyndham Championship, becoming just the ninth player to achieve the score in PGA Tour history.

Brandt Snedeker has become just the ninth player to record a score of 59 on the PGA Tour.

The American is currently competing at the Wyndham Championship, which is acting as the final event ahead of the Fedex Cup which begins next week.

Snedeker has already earned his place in the final stages of the event, but the world number 88 has overcome a bogey start to record the "perfect" round.

The 37-year-old was only on three-under at the turn, but six birdies and an eagle during his back nine has cemented his name in the history books.

The last 59 on the PGA Tour came from Justin Thomas, who achieved that score at the Sony Open in Hawaii last year.
