The European Judo Championships have been moved to Baku following the recent withdrawal from Glasgow.
The original host decision was changed following a dispute between the British Judo Association and the European Judo Union.
Now, it has been confirmed that the capital of Azerbaijan has been awarded the competition, which runs from June 12 to June 28.
"This is wonderful news as we approach the final lap of our preparations for the inaugural European Games," insidethegames.biz quotes President of the European Olympic Committees Patrick Hickey as saying.
"The EOC has always intended for European Championships to become part of the European Games and this agreement indicates that our aim is coming true, even earlier than we had anticipated."
The row between the BJA and the EJU was in relation to sponsorship involving the Ultimate Fighting Championship.
