Australia cricket captain Michael Clarke will act as one of the pallbearers at the funeral of Phil Hughes in the late batsman's hometown of Macksville on Wednesday.
The 25-year-old lost his life in St Vincent's Hospital in Sydney just two days after getting struck in his neck by a ball during a Sheffield Shield match last week.
Hughes never regained consciousness from an induced coma after suffering serious head injuries from a bouncer bowled by Sean Abbott at the Sydney Cricket Ground on November 25.
Clarke, who has received widespread praise for his conduct after Hughes suffered the fatal injury, will also do a reading at the service, which will be attended by the current Australia squad, as well as former internationals including Ricky Ponting and Shane Warne.
Today, Clarke posted an image on Instagram of himself with Hughes and added the caption: "Tomorrow is going to be a tough day!"
