Chelsea injury, suspension news and return dates vs. West Ham United: Benoit Badiashile latest

Sports Mole rounds up all of Chelsea's latest injury and suspension news ahead of Monday's Premier League fixture against West Ham United.

Chelsea return to action on Monday evening when they square off against West Ham United in a London derby.

The Blues will take to the pitch having had over a week to dwell on letting slip an early lead at Manchester City before losing by a 3-1 scoreline.

Now sitting in sixth position in the Premier League table, Enzo Maresca's side head into this contest facing a Hammers outfit that currently occupy 14th spot as Graham Potter makes his first return to Stamford Bridge since his April 2023 sacking.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up Chelsea's injury and suspension news ahead of their trip to an improving Man City outfit who will also have one eye on signing new players on transfer deadline day.

Status: Out
Type of injury: Hamstring
Possible return date: Unknown

Fofana and Maresca have clashed over the former's recovery time from a hamstring injury. However, Fofana has made progress in recent days and is seemingly pushing for his predicted March return date.

Benoit Badiashile

Status: Major doubt
Type of injury: Thigh
Possible return date: February 14 (vs. Brighton & Hove Albion)

Fellow defender Benoit Badiashile sustained a thigh problem in training last month, and Maresca has previously conceded that the former Monaco man will be absent until February. As it stands, there appears no chance of the Frenchman returning to the squad on Monday.

Possible return date: Unknown

Summer signing Omari Kellyman is yet to make his Blues bow due to a serious hamstring injury, and there has still been no update on when the fledgling playmaker might be considered for selection again.

Romeo Lavia

Status: Out
Type of injury: Muscle
Possible return date: Unknown

Romeo Lavia is back on the sidelines with a muscle injury just two games having made his latest recovery. Maresca has already suggested that the Belgium international may remain absent until March.
